China's plastic products output reached 11.852 million tonnes in the first two months of 2026, marking a year-on-year increase of 5.2%, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics of China.
Top Producing Provinces By Output
Zhejiang Province ranked first in plastic products production during January-February, with an output of 2.036 million tonnes, accounting for 17.2% of the national total. Guangdong Province followed with 1.884 million tonnes, representing 15.9%.
Hubei Province recorded production of 1.275 million tonnes, contributing 10.8%, while Shandong Province produced 964,000 tonnes, accounting for 8.1%. Jiangsu Province rounded out the top five with 908,000 tonnes, making up 7.7% of total output.
Regional Production Breakdown
From a regional perspective, eastern China maintained its leading position, with cumulative output reaching 7.321 million tonnes, representing 61.8% of the national total.
Central China reported production of 3.004 million tonnes, accounting for 25.3%, while western China produced 1.296 million tonnes, contributing 10.9%. Northeast China recorded the smallest share, with output totaling 232,000 tonnes, or 2.0% of the total.
The data highlights a continued concentration of plastic manufacturing activity in eastern China, alongside steady growth across other regions in early 2026.
