China Hydrogen Chloride Trade Soars in November 2025 Data

China's latest customs data shows notable shifts in its hydrogen chloride (hydrochloric acid) trade in November 2025 and across the first eleven months of the year.

In November 2025, China imported 783.1 tonnes of hydrogen chloride, an increase of 14.4% year-on-year. The main import suppliers were Taiwan, China, providing 451.9 tonnes and accounting for 57.7%, and Japan, supplying 312.3 tonnes and accounting for 39.9%. During the same month, China exported 3,088.5 tonnes of hydrogen chloride, up 146.1% year-on-year. Key export destinations included Indonesia with 920.0 tonnes (29.8%), Guinea with 920.0 tonnes (29.8%), and Australia with 250.2 tonnes (8.1%).

From January to November 2025, China imported a total of 7,350.2 tonnes of hydrogen chloride, marking an 8.4% year-on-year decline. The primary import sources were Taiwan, China, with 4,822.2 tonnes (65.6%), and Japan, with 2,358.3 tonnes (32.1%). Over the same period, China exported 28,035.4 tonnes of hydrogen chloride, representing a 76.3% year-on-year increase. Major export destinations included Indonesia with 7,943.9 tonnes (28.3%), Cambodia with 3,977.8 tonnes (14.2%), and Guinea with 3,784.6 tonnes (13.5%).
