China Liquid Chlorine Trade Sees Import Surge, Exports Slump in Nov 2025

According to the latest customs statistics, China imported 15.3 tonnes of liquid chlorine in November 2025, marking a month-on-month increase of 102.3% and a marginal year-on-year rise of 0.3%. The average import price reached USD 17,765.2 per tonne, up 3.6% from the previous month and 34.7% higher than the same period last year.

During the same month, China exported 0.2 tonnes of liquid chlorine, representing a sharp 70% month-on-month decline. The average export price surged to USD 89,240 per tonne, reflecting a substantial month-on-month increase of 1,438.6%.

From January to November 2025, China's cumulative liquid chlorine imports totalled 160.2 tonnes, down 13.2% year-on-year. Over the same period, cumulative exports amounted to 7.9 tonnes, a year-on-year decrease of 72.5%.

In terms of trade structure, China's liquid chlorine imports were predominantly conducted under general trade arrangements, with supply mainly originating from Japan and South Korea. Between January and November, imports from Japan reached 131.9 tonnes under general trade and bonded supervision zone arrangements. Imports from South Korea totalled 28.2 tonnes, primarily under processing trade and bonded supervision zone arrangements.
