According to official customs statistics, China's monochloroacetic acid trade recorded a significant contraction in December 2025, with both imports and exports declining on a month-on-month and year-on-year basis.
In December 2025, China imported 100 tons of monochloroacetic acid, down 70.03% from the previous month and 45.28% compared with the same period last year. Exports totaled 2,300 tons, representing a 55.38% month-on-month decrease and a 64.78% year-on-year decline.
For the full year 2025, China's cumulative imports reached 1,800 tons, marking a 28.05% year-on-year reduction. Total exports for January–December amounted to 60,000 tons, down 15.51% compared with 2024 levels.
In terms of import sources, Germany was China's largest supplier in 2025, shipping 800 tons and accounting for 43.60% of total imports. The Netherlands followed with 600 tons (33.94%), while Japan supplied 200 tons, representing 12.44%.
On the export side, Turkey ranked as the leading destination, importing 14,500 tons and taking a 24.19% share of China's total exports. Mexico received 7,900 tons (13.16%), followed by Indonesia at 6,600 tons, accounting for 11.02%.
Overall, the data highlight a broad-based slowdown in China's monochloroacetic acid trade in 2025, with declines evident across both import and export markets.
