China's Dichloromethane and Chlorotrifluoromethane Trade Performance in October 2025

According to the latest customs data, China's dichloromethane imports totalled 20.5 tonnes in October 2025, reflecting a sharp month-on-month decline of 63.7% but a remarkable year-on-year increase of 2055.3%. Exports reached 18,850.3 tonnes, marking a minimal month-on-month growth of 0.1% and a significant year-on-year rise of 121.3%. The average export price stood at US$347.5 per tonne, down 1.4% month-on-month and 27.2% year-on-year. From January to October 2025, total imports of dichloromethane amounted to 142.3 tonnes, a substantial year-on-year decrease of 93.3%, while exports reached 173,888.9 tonnes, up 40.7% year-on-year.

In terms of export destinations, Turkey, Vietnam, Brazil, Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates ranked as the top five markets during the first ten months of 2025, accounting for 76,229.1 tonnes or 43.8% of total exports. Specifically, exports to Turkey reached 24,738.8 tonnes (14.2%), to Vietnam 18,002.1 tonnes (10.4%), to Brazil 12,272.0 tonnes (7.1%), to Nigeria 10,916.1 tonnes (6.3%), and to the UAE 10,300.2 tonnes (5.9%).

Customs statistics also show that in October 2025, China imported 1,750.1 tonnes of chlorotrifluoromethane, representing a month-on-month decrease of 6.1%. Exports stood at 124.0 tonnes, registering a month-on-month decline of 36.1% but a year-on-year increase of 106.7%. The export price averaged US$356.2 per tonne, down 6.0% month-on-month. From January to October 2025, China imported 5,188.7 tonnes of chlorotrifluoromethane, reflecting a 16.7% year-on-year increase, while exports totalled 1,634.6 tonnes, representing a year-on-year decrease of 20.0%.

By export destination, South Korea, Brazil, Ukraine, Iran and Argentina were the top five markets during the reporting period, collectively accounting for 1,614.9 tonnes or 98.8% of total exports. Specifically, South Korea received 1,434.9 tonnes (87.8%), Brazil 72 tonnes (4.4%), Ukraine 60 tonnes (3.7%), Iran 24 tonnes (1.5%) and Argentina 24 tonnes (1.5%). All trade was conducted under general trade arrangements.
