China's EDC Trade in October 2025 Sees Sharp Import Surge and Export Decline

According to the latest customs data, in October 2025, China's imports of EDC products reached 46,400 tonnes, representing a year-on-year increase of 309.97%. Meanwhile, China's exports of EDC products amounted to 138.75 tonnes, marking a year-on-year decrease of 32.32%. From January to October 2025, cumulative imports totalled 310,500 tonnes, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 283.7%, while cumulative exports reached 1,680.25 tonnes, representing a 76.31% year-on-year decline.

In terms of trade destinations, Oman and South Korea were the primary sources of China's EDC imports in October 2025. Imports from Oman amounted to 36,300 tonnes via general trade, and South Korea supplied 10,000 tonnes. The major export destinations during the same period were Vietnam, Thailand and Taiwan, China, with 100 tonnes exported to Vietnam, 20 tonnes to Thailand, and 18.75 tonnes to Taiwan, China, mainly through general trade.

From January to October 2025, South Korea, the United States, and Oman were China's leading sources of EDC imports, with volumes reaching 230,100 tonnes from South Korea, 66,300 tonnes from the United States, and 10,000 tonnes from Oman. Over the same period, Vietnam, Taiwan, Angola, and Nigeria served as the primary export destinations. Exports comprised 1,320.25 tonnes to Vietnam (78.57% share), 61.25 tonnes to Taiwan (3.65%), 60 tonnes to Angola (3.57%), and 60 tonnes to Nigeria (3.57%).
