China's Epichlorohydrin Trade Sees Sharp Import Surge in Dec 2025

Latest customs data show that in December 2025, China imported 67.8 tonnes of epichlorohydrin, marking a sharp month-on-month increase of 76.6% and a year-on-year surge of 138.2%. The average import price stood at USD 1,583.8 per tonne, down 4.5% from the previous month but up 16.1% compared with the same period last year.

During the same month, China exported 2,601.5 tonnes of epichlorohydrin, representing a month-on-month decline of 31.8% and a year-on-year decrease of 21.1%. The average export price was USD 1,619.8 per tonne, falling 4.6% month-on-month while recording a year-on-year increase of 33.9%.

For the full year from January to December 2025, China's total imports of epichlorohydrin reached 621.1 tonnes, down 4.0% year-on-year. Total exports over the same period amounted to 71,166.1 tonnes, reflecting a year-on-year decline of 15.6%.

South Korea, India, Taiwan Province of China, Thailand and Brazil ranked as China's top five export destinations for epichlorohydrin in 2025. Combined exports to these markets totalled 62,671.8 tonnes, accounting for 88.1% of overall shipments. Exports to South Korea reached 26,464.3 tonnes, representing 37.2% of the total, followed by India with 24,926.7 tonnes, or 35.0%. Shipments to Taiwan Province of China stood at 4,533.4 tonnes (6.4%), Thailand at 4,430.0 tonnes (6.2%), and Brazil at 2,318.4 tonnes, accounting for 3.3%.
