China's Gum Resin Trade in October 2025: Imports and Exports Decline Month-on-Month
Based on China Customs statistics, China imported 8,500 tonnes of gum resins in October 2025, reflecting a month-on-month decline of 20.18% and a year-on-year decrease of 4.08%. Over the same period, exports totalled 7,600 tonnes, down 20.27% from the previous month and 19.69% compared with a year earlier.
From January to October 2025, cumulative gum resin imports reached 87,700 tonnes, representing a modest year-on-year increase of 1.36%. Cumulative exports amounted to 101,800 tonnes, posting a stronger year-on-year growth of 12.78%.
During the period under review, China's gum resin imports were mainly sourced from Taiwan, China, with volumes of 34,500 tonnes, accounting for 39.30% of total imports. This was followed by Thailand at 15,800 tonnes (18.06%), Germany and Malaysia each at 10,300 tonnes (11.71% respectively), and South Korea at 9,100 tonnes (10.37%).
On the export side, Russia remained the dominant destination, absorbing 64,700 tonnes and accounting for 63.45% of total exports. Other key export markets included Pakistan at 5,400 tonnes (5.31%), Vietnam at 4,000 tonnes (3.88%), Uzbekistan at 3,700 tonnes (3.66%), and South Korea at 2,800 tonnes (2.78%).
