China's Hydrogen Chloride Trade in October 2025: Imports Decline While Exports Surge
According to the latest customs data, China imported 551.2 tonnes of hydrogen chloride (hydrochloric acid) in October 2025, marking a year-on-year decline of 25.8%. Imports were primarily sourced from Taiwan Province of China, which supplied 415.8 tonnes and accounted for 75.4% of the total, followed by Japan with 118.9 tonnes, representing 21.6%.
Over the same month, China's exports of hydrogen chloride (hydrochloric acid) reached 3,562.1 tonnes, surging 204.6% year on year. Indonesia was the leading export destination, receiving 1,688.0 tonnes, or 47.4% of total exports, followed by Guinea with 529.0 tonnes (14.9%) and Hong Kong, China with 207.0 tonnes (5.8%).
From January to October 2025, China imported a total of 6,567.1 tonnes of hydrogen chloride (hydrochloric acid), down 10.5% compared with the same period last year. Taiwan Province of China remained the largest source, supplying 4,370.3 tonnes and accounting for 66.5%, while Japan contributed 2,046.0 tonnes, or 31.2%.
During the first ten months of 2025, China's exports of hydrogen chloride (hydrochloric acid) totaled 24,946.9 tonnes, representing a year-on-year increase of 70.3%. Indonesia ranked as the top destination with 7,023.9 tonnes, accounting for 28.2% of exports, followed by Cambodia at 3,977.8 tonnes (15.9%) and Guinea at 2,864.6 tonnes (11.5%).
