According to the latest customs data, China's liquid chlorine trade experienced notable fluctuations in October 2025. Imports reached 7.6 tonnes, marking a 61.5% month-on-month decline but an 18.9% year-on-year increase. The average import price was US$17,142.1 per tonne, up 17.1% month-on-month, yet down 35.2% year-on-year.
During the same month, China exported 0.5 tonnes of liquid chlorine, representing an 83.3% month-on-month decrease. The average export price registered US$5,800 per tonne, down 33.4% month-on-month.
From January to October 2025, China's cumulative imports totalled 144.9 tonnes, reflecting a 15.7% year-on-year decline, while cumulative exports amounted to 7.7 tonnes, a 73% decrease year-on-year.
China's liquid chlorine imports primarily adopt the general trade model and are mainly sourced from Japan and South Korea. Over the ten-month period, imports from Japan reached 120.1 tonnes, conducted through general trade and bonded supervision area entry/exit goods channels. Imports from South Korea stood at 24.8 tonnes, utilising processing trade and bonded supervision area entry/exit goods methods.
