China's Plastic Product Output Slips 6.5% in November, January–November Production Remains Stable
According to the latest data released by the National Bureau of Statistics, China's output of plastic products totaled 6.978 million tonnes in November 2025, marking a year-on-year decline of 6.5%. Cumulative production for the first eleven months of the year reached 71.874 million tonnes, remaining broadly flat compared with the same period a year earlier.
In November, Guangdong ranked first nationwide in plastic product output, producing 1.192 million tonnes and accounting for 17.1% of the total. Zhejiang followed with 1.122 million tonnes, representing a 16.1% share. Hubei recorded output of 691,000 tonnes (9.9%), while Jiangsu and Shandong produced 557,000 tonnes and 480,000 tonnes, accounting for 8.0% and 6.9%, respectively.
From a regional perspective, the eastern region continued to lead national production between January and November 2025, with cumulative output reaching 44.774 million tonnes, or 62.3% of the total. The central region reported cumulative output of 17.303 million tonnes, accounting for 24.1%. The western region produced 8.209 million tonnes, representing 11.4%, while the northeastern region recorded cumulative output of 1.587 million tonnes, accounting for 2.2%.
