In November 2025, chlorine production in Europe totaled 585 thousand tonnes, marking a 10.4% year-on-year decline from 653 thousand tonnes recorded in November 2024. Over the January–November period of 2025, cumulative European chlorine output reached 7.155 million tonnes, down 3.0% year on year, compared with 7.375 million tonnes during the same period in 2024.
Average daily chlorine production in Europe stood at 19 thousand tonnes in November 2025, easing from 20 thousand tonnes in October and representing a 13.6% year-on-year decrease from the 22 thousand tonnes recorded in November 2024. During the month, the average capacity utilisation rate of European chlor-alkali plants was 61.8%, slightly lower than October's 64.8% and below the 66.4% utilisation rate reported in November 2024.
European caustic soda inventories totaled 238 thousand tonnes in November 2025, down from 270 thousand tonnes in October. On a year-on-year basis, inventories increased by 20 thousand tonnes, compared with 218 thousand tonnes recorded in November 2024.
