According to China Customs data, in the first half of 2025, China imported 320.3 tons of epichlorohydrin, down 18.5% year-on-year, with an average import price of USD 1,380.6/ton, a 4.1% decrease year-on-year. During the same period, China's epichlorohydrin exports reached 43,490.7 tons, up 1.1% year-on-year, with an average export price of USD 1,249.3/ton, a sharp 23.5% increase year-on-year.
In the first half of 2025, China's top five export destinations for epichlorohydrin were South Korea, India, Taiwan (China), Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), with combined exports of 39,182.5 tons, accounting for 90.1% of total exports. Among them:
* Exports to South Korea were 20,362.9 tons (46.8% share)
* Exports to India were 11,119.8 tons (25.6% share)
* Exports to Taiwan (China) were 3,621.4 tons (8.3% share)
* Exports to Thailand were 2,525.2 tons (5.8% share)
* Exports to the UAE were 1,553.2 tons (3.6% share)
Meanwhile, in the first half of 2025, China imported 767,096.4 tons of crude glycerol, down 2% year-on-year, with an average import price of USD 471.9/ton, a surge of 67.1% year-on-year. During the same period, imports of refined glycerin (glycerol) totaled 325,503.4 tons, down 5.3% year-on-year, with an average import price of USD 774.7/ton, up 41.8% year-on-year.
Crude glycerol imports mainly came from Indonesia, Brazil, Malaysia, and Spain, accounting for 90.2% of total imports. Refined glycerin imports were mainly sourced from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Brazil, and Argentina, together representing 98.1% of total imports.
