China Chloroacetic Acid Exports Jump 41.8% in April 2026

China's imports and exports of chloroacetic acid both recorded strong growth in April 2026, according to data released by the General Administration of Customs.

China imported 180.1 metric tons of chloroacetic acid in April, up 95.3% from the previous month and 4.9% higher than a year earlier. Exports reached 5,706.6 metric tons during the month, increasing 28.3% month-on-month and 41.8% year-on-year.

For the first four months of 2026, China's cumulative imports of chloroacetic acid totaled 448.4 metric tons, down 28.9% from the same period a year earlier. Cumulative exports stood at 17,480.4 metric tons, a decrease of 17.6% year-on-year.

Germany remained China's largest supplier of chloroacetic acid between January and April, exporting 188.7 metric tons to the country and accounting for 42.1% of total imports. India supplied 125.1 metric tons, representing 27.9%, while Japan contributed 68.6 metric tons, or 15.3% of the total.

On the export side, Turkey was the leading destination for Chinese chloroacetic acid shipments during the January–April period, receiving 4,960.0 metric tons and accounting for 28.4% of total exports. Mexico imported 2,070.0 metric tons, representing 11.8%, while South Korea received 1,902.3 metric tons, equivalent to 10.9% of China's total exports.
