China's Ethylene Output Rises 11.7% Year on Year in October

Data released by the National Bureau of Statistics shows that China's ethylene production reached 3.139 million tonnes in October 2025, up 11.7% year on year. From January to October, cumulative ethylene output totalled 30.579 million tonnes, representing a year-on-year increase of 10.7%.

By province, Jiangsu led ethylene production in October with 590 thousand tonnes, accounting for 18.8% of the national total. Guangdong followed with 506 thousand tonnes, or 16.1%, while Fujian produced 272 thousand tonnes (8.7%). Liaoning and Shandong ranked fourth and fifth, with outputs of 267 thousand tonnes and 235 thousand tonnes, accounting for 8.5% and 7.5% respectively.

In terms of cumulative output over the January–October period, Jiangsu remained the largest producer with 5.215 million tonnes, representing 17.1% of the total. Guangdong recorded 4.959 million tonnes, or 16.2%, followed by Liaoning at 3.054 million tonnes (10.0%). Fujian and Zhejiang produced 2.636 million tonnes and 2.302 million tonnes respectively, accounting for 8.6% and 7.5% of national output.
